June 24th, 2008 -------------------------------------------------------------------- happy birthday cam! |
There was a punk- jersey- chic named Cam who found it easy to get in a jam. Until one magical day wherefrom she met a sweet chap named Tom who crowned her princess and she said, "I AM?!" |

May 26th, 2008 -------------------------------------------------------------------- deja vu... summer's on its way! |
Sounds and smells at picnics have a peculiar deja vu quality (Lake Tobyhanna flashbacks perhaps? Or wherever your fondest memories take you). Sitting 'round waiting for the hot dogs and buns to come off the grill (there's that sizzling symphony that sounds so yummy), or walking in the woods (crunching the sticks underfoot and smelling the clean breeze as it tickles the leaves overhead). Cousins accompanying their acoustic guitars to familiar family melodies so that everyone joins in with a barely heard hum and a nod of the head; perhaps a rhythmic clap, or a faint finger snap. And always a friendly game of softball beacuse "hardball" sounds much too loud and don't our old leather gloves leave a most peculiar scent on our hands? Watching the uncles watching dad once again checking under the hood of his old antique Buick (never liked the smell under there and why do they smile, and shake their heads up and down and "oh and ah " as they stare?). There's the laughter of the aunts (how is it they all sound the same when they giggle?), and the chirping of the birds (even they all sound different!). And this year will we hear the once-in-a -while cannonball-splash of the bravest-of-the-brave jumping in to the way too cold lake water ... oh, yes, and the very loud scream that always follows! Oh dear! There's something new?! Not a volunteer this year! Someone threw someone into the lake! I smell trouble! All mischief and mustard memories from the Monday of Memorial day weekend, here once again at the near-end of May. Yippee! Sounds (and smells) like summer's on its way! |

March 26th, 2008 -------------------------------------------------------------------- just another day down on the farm... |
Okay. Breathe. Shake off the tummy butterflies. Walk down that path. Lots of tough assignments and VIP's under your belt...just mingle with the crowd. Yeah, that's it... ask a few of the experts to tell you all about what it's like meeting the Big Bunny himself and hunting for the golden egg. This Sweetie Pie has her dad's smile... Ah. Excuse me. Is this your first hunt? Hmmm... Cutie's playing baby and not talking, eh? |
How about you little girl? Not giving up the binkie, huh? No Nike knee pads under that blanket? Okay... okay...I get it. Back to sleep, precious one. Hey, over there... a familiar face! The Charmin baby! What a coincidence. He'll tell me what it's like. Awe, shucks. A celebrity look-alike. This little fellow has got a future in the business. Not many people can wear that color and look soooooo good! No one should be that cute! Still, not giving me the scoop about the egg-tossing Bunny? Buttoned up those cute lips? Oh well. See you later, alligator. |
This dapper fella talked! It's every kid for himself out there in the fields but there are plenty of eggs for everyone, and he never met a Bunny he didn't like. Now clowns...that's different! |
The pony rides are under way! Hoss Cartwright felt like this...whoa... hold on to your hat, or mom's hand, or both! Good advice: Watch your step...wear boots! |
This young lady is a natural. Reminds me of Black Beauty. It feels like we're out in the country making a picture. Wait a minute...we are! |
No official contest for "Best Hunt Basket" but these two buddies win here! Elmo merchandising is universally appreciated wherever it appears, and the camoflauge look is super haute! Dad agrees! |
Would the Bunny come In a pink limo, a gas saving hybrid or would he come hopping down the bunny trail? Knowing celebs are late arrivers, we kept busy rock climbing and pretend tractor racing... |
HOLD EVERYTHING! We have our first siting of the (drumroll, please).... This is very exciting indeed! |
While some of us aren't sure we want to get too close, there are the brave ones among us who just can't get enough of that fluffy bunny stuff! Here I go! |
This little darling was sharing smiles and secrets..."Mr. Easter Bunny, what do you do with all those eggs?" |
The Easter Bunny was soft and sweet. He wasn't a big talker, but who cares. He came with 10,000 eggs and it was TIME FOR THE HUNT! |
Sitting back on the sidelines with these adorable sisters and having a good ol' time wondering "hey...why is there a boy Molly's age in the hunt for the littlest kids?" We couldn't find the Easter Egg Hunt Police. But we found reasons to tickle and giggle, and we cracked up laughing! |
Everyone sat down to open their eggs. Uh- excuse me ladies...are you in the right age group? Just goes to show, we're all silly kids at heart! |
The girl with the golden egg had a big beautiful golden smile, too. She should be on the cover of Kiddie Vogue! And take a look at this sweetheart of a little guy. After all that effort in opening up his egg, he's still elated. It's not everyday you get a big blue vegetarian balloon to blow up! Now what? I have a feeling there's still more fun to be had just around the corner... |
I do believe you two young ladies may know one another...(Hi Gramps! Lots more inside the site of these two, and a few of you and Grandma as well!) |
Did you know that horses like to get scratched behind their ears just like puppies? LOVE these shots... my favorite baseball caps... |
and my favorite frilly girly hats... |
my favorite snugglers playing shy... and my favorite silly cookie eating guy... (he had a BIG cookie!) |
my favorite painted flowers, just in time for spring... |
and my favorite pretty "chick-a-dees!" ...oh, and one more thing... |
my favorite very, very busy bumblebee... happily ever after bumble-ing... Thanks to everyone who came to the Easter Egg Hunt at Longmeadow Farm and to all our gracious hosts who made it fun and yummy. January 17th, 2008 -------------------------------------------------------------------- dibby dibby spider |
Six months have gone by since Brett's first photo session. He was only 3 weeks "old" and barely kept his eyes open. Now look at him! Mom says he is the happiest baby-- always smiling. It's true! |
Dad's eyes are on his boy, and Brett's are on his bottle! Weighing in at only 5 pounds less than his big sis, he'll be ready for major league football in 8th grade... what was that dad? Oh, okay...7th grade! |
Simply hangin' out and sharing the afternoon. Brett already supposes what pops nose is put there for... just for him to hold on to when having a giggle fit! |
Dancing and swinging and rocking and rolling in the living room after lunch... |
And NOT to be outdone by the littlest star in the family, sweet Clare still had lots of smiles and surprises for me in front of , behind and beside the camera... |
Riding bikes in the living room for a short while before she remembered something very, very important. Come... back upstairs... okay...? |
Wow! A rousing rendition of the "Dibby Dibby Spider." That 's "Itsy Bitsy Spider" if you didn't have your chocolate puddin' cake today. The dibby dibby spider went up the water spout... down came the rain & washed the spider out.... |
...and out came the sun... and dried up all the rain.... |
And the dibby dibby spider... climbed up on dad again... Oh, uh, I mean... more fun on dad's shoulders |
and then outside to catch the sun before it goes down... on all the dibby dibby spiders... and the chocolate puddin' cake clan. Recipe by request :) |

September 28th, 2007 -------------------------------------------------------------------- banana pancakes |
Ding dong. Moments later the door flew open. They are cute! It took all of a second to know this was going to be wonderful. Morgan and Tyler greeted me with big friendly smiles and "Mom's still blow drying Lulu's hair upstairs." Okay... can you point me to a .... long drive.... "Yeah.. it's right there!" And they disappeared back upstairs. Giggling. Then a distant "We'll be down soon... make yourself at home !" That must be mom. Okay. No need to hurry... After my pit stop, I heard giggling in the kitchen, so I went in to see... whoa. And there they were. Yeah, Morgan and Tyler came back down, but that's not what caught my eye. Sitting on a plate on a granite countertop were golden banana pancakes. You had banana pancakes for breakfast? "Yeah." Well Debbie said to make myself at home so... Can I try one? "Sure, but they're cold." That's how I like them. Yum... these are really good! |
Back to the foyer to get the gear set up and into the shootsac and then I heard "Here she is..." In came Mom and .... You must be Lulu ! Oh my goodness... and who's this??? Even the puppy is CUTE ! And mom , too! This whole house is filled with cute ! "Hi...you found us okay? Oh good. You Googled us? Most people get lost! Can I get you anything? Something to drink?" I already had a banana pancake. I hope that was okay. "Of course! Oh, no coffee? Juice? Water? The kids had them for breakfast. They love them. But they were cold... are you sure...nothing else?" A warm and gracious welcoming from everyone. This is going to be wonderful. |
And it was. Some clowning around in the living room as we got to know one another. It didn't take long... smiles and silliness and soon... |
the kids were- well... totally at home ! "Do you need me for anything, Donna ?" Not right now Deb, thanks. I think we're okay for awhile. They're being themselves and this is great. Okay guys, closer now. Maybe we can surprise mom with a nice one of you together. No sooner had I said it then all three hit the floor ! Cute and cooperative ! |
Okay. Some for mom and dad and now... let's get some of you guys alone.. Who's first? "Me!" (giggle) Okay me. Let's go. So you dressed yourself today, Lu! Very stylish. Morgan asked for next up, then it was Tyler's turn. And when it was time to wrap it all up and Lulu had given me the last surprise shot of the day , swinging happily from her tree branch... "Can I get you anything for the long ride home? Some more water, or juice? And maybe some peanut butter granola bars?" Do you have any more banana pancakes left? "Sure! Are you sure you want them? I'm not a very good cook. I make them because the kids love them. I'll be right back." Lulu and I were waiting for mom when she discovered a frilly, glittery pink thing on the ground. Another hair tie, Lu? "Noooo (with giggles)... this is my cat's dress. " A cat, too? And although I didn't get a chance to meet her, somehow I knew she was cute, too. Out came a smiling mom, with her hands full of banana pancakes wrapped in a napkin, bottled water and granola bars "just in case you decide not to eat the pancakes." Are you kidding? They are awesome! It doesn't get much better than cold banana pancakes for the long ride home. But four fun blog entries and a beautiful new blog banner are right up there ! Well Deb, I think you'll have lots of fun looking through your galleries. And, yes, there are some of the kids all together. Thank you all for a super day ! |
